LiftScan ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.
When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name to identify your account and enable cloud sync.
We store the workout programs you create or scan, exercise logs, sets, reps, weights, personal records, and any notes you add. This data is essential to provide the core functionality of tracking your fitness progress.
When you use our AI scanning feature, images of workout programs are sent to our AI processing service (Anthropic Claude) to extract exercise information. These images are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored on our AI provider's servers. Photos and videos you capture during workouts may be stored in cloud storage if you choose to save them.
If you submit feedback through the app or website, we collect your message and optionally your name and email address if you choose to provide them.
We may collect basic device information such as device type and operating system version to optimize your experience and troubleshoot issues.
With your permission, LiftScan sends the data an AI feature needs to Anthropic's Claude AI service to process the answer: workout programs, meal plans, meal photos and text you scan (for text extraction and parsing), and — if you use the AI coach — your logged training, nutrition, sleep, body and check-in data (to generate your coaching insights, daily comments and weekly briefs). The app asks for your consent in-app before any of this is sent, and you can decline. Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy and does not use your data for training purposes.
Your account data, workout history, and uploaded media are stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted database storage and file hosting.
We use PostHog for product analytics, to understand how the app and website are used and to make them better. PostHog is a data processor for us and hosts this data in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany). It receives event names (such as completing onboarding, starting a trial, or viewing a page), counts, your device platform, app version, language setting, an anonymous installation or session identifier — or your account identifier once you are signed in — and, for the marketing site, first-touch campaign and referral parameters (UTM values). It never receives your name, email address, or any workout, nutrition, sleep, or body data. We rely on our legitimate interest in improving the product as the legal basis for this processing, and PostHog retains the data for as long as configured in our PostHog account.
You can turn this off at any time: in the app, go to Settings → Privacy → Share usage analytics; on liftscan.app, use the switch on this page. Prefer we handle it for you? Contact us through the feedback form in the app or on our website and we'll turn it off for your account.
